Novelty is the quality of existence fresh. Although it can be said to keep close at hand an objective dimension (e.g. the future style of art coming into being, like abstract or impressionism) it essentially lives in the subjective perceptions of people. It too refers to something novel; that which is striking, original or even unusual.
